Incredible speed on slow corners
Mercedes have had top tier low-to-medium speed agility even going back to last year. That front end is very responsive. Mclaren is the only other car that matches/beats them in this area.

I thought it might be fun for us all to try and predict when Merc will announce their 2026 Driver Lineup…. I think most people are confident in saying that it will be George and Kimi.

My prediction is Vegas. No particular reason, just somehow feels right.
Sounds crazy late and I am betting the same :?

Incredible speed on slow corners and best top speed all weekend, I wonder how that was possible especially with the heat …

Could this explain the speed of the W16 ?
Take away high speed corners and Mercedes is quick. Same as Canada and Baku. Mercedes was very fast in Singapore in 2022 and 2023. They should have won in 2023 if Russell didn't crash out. They'll be right there in Las Vegas. COTA and Qatar will be challenging.
It doesn't turn.

Sounds like a Simone Resta designed car, oh wait...
Remind me of the 2017/18 Ferraris, you can see some design inspiration there, and being strong in slow speed.
But a solid job this year from the team

Be interesting to hear the details of George's contract....at least length etc...

I fully suspect Kimi is on a 1 year deal for now.

From a few sources now, it sounds like it might actually be a straight 2 year deal.

I hope Russell has ensured he only gets 1+1 and stay open for 2027. If Mercedes is good for 2026, then he can potentially win a title and then continue for 2027 and beyond. If Mercedes fails again like 2022, then he can look at Aston Martin or Red Bull or perhaps Ferrari for 2027 depending on who has a good package. Given the current form and his talent, he shouldn't commit long term for Mercedes and keep his options open, which at the moment, he fully deserves.
