Newey-to-Renault rumor also mentioned.
As much as it hurts me accept this as a Fernando fan, yes. A works Honda engine > customer Renault. They finally seem to have got it right in terms of reliability.
....for the 2019 and 2020 Formula 1 seasons....
The Team will continue to race under the name of Aston Martin Red Bull Racing.

Too early? They're still finishing the season with Renault. RB knows what it's doing, TR feedback should give them realistic feedback and expectations.Starscreamer wrote: ↑19 Jun 2018, 09:28year too early I am afraid
Better stick one year with Renault
RedBull aren't stupid, they've had all the data they need from TR to make this decision. Clearly Honda are close enough in parity with Renault or they wouldn't have taken the leap.

If everything goes well, I'd expect an extension into the new Formula. McLaren only signed with Renault until then..
I think that's pretty much what most people were expecting, a short term deal to leave Red Bull's options open for 2021, it's by no means certain that the engine regulation changes will bring in new manufacturers though. So I'd guess Red Bull will have an option to extend the contract with Honda.
