Aston Martin AMR23

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

The “water slides” (we need a better name for the down ramp, lol)… Seem to definitely get all the way down to the floor:

Anyone interested in a quick CFD of AMR23-like sidepod design? Might have some time this weekend, I'm interested in how much downwash they could induce
Yes please, I would really like to see if it creates a large low pressure zone in that channel.
Might be good for channeling more air down and over the top of the diffuser, and maybe even draw some air down higher up to be directed towards the rear wing. But interested in seeing if there is a low pressure zone, and if it's worth the compromise

I'd like to see it simulated with some side-slip, I think that'd be interesting to see what happens with that sheilding side.

That would be interesting. It was posted earlier but there is a slot in the tip of the sidepod. Unsure if this is for legality, or possibly for yaw sensitiviy

Wow, if this is a waterslide then the thing next to it, with the sponsor on it, must be the safety barrier to not fall off the water slide. But looking at the naked pictures this barrier/wall seems completely empty, so is only intended for aero.

Interesting at least.
But just suppose it weren't hypothetical.

Why even ask? Of course we'll be interested in seeing every CFD thing we can, especially when it's about strange concepts.

I like merc's engine cover as gutters as they stay horizontal and a narrow channel

Waterslide makes total sense for Aston martins exaggerated dip

Getting off topic, but why waterslide when it shifts air? How about an air slide?

On the subject matter of the package - is there a particular standout feature that seems to make this a more balanced package than last year's one?
