At this point of his career, probably.LeQuick wrote: ↑27 Mar 2026, 16:12That's why for me he's just a better driver.
There is no way they can keep McLaren behind for long with the engine difference.
That is what is worrying me.
Which highlights the fact that the cars have been subpar.Waz wrote: ↑27 Mar 2026, 22:29Tires won't be much of a factor with lower corner speeds. Soft and hard is the same in a straight line. And this is the new formula.
Ferrari haven't done well at Suzuka in years, so I think a podium here will be a nice surprise. Otherwise it's a fight for 4th and 5th, hopefully beating 1 McLaren.
Well no - one the harder tyres (hard in FP1 and medium in FP2) Charles was fastest in both sessions. Then when everyone switched to the softs, everyone else found a chunk whereas Ferrari found very little. So the point is that, over one lap, other teams got a lot more benefit from the soft tyre - this may mean that Ferrari has more to find (or it could mean they switched on the harder tyres better).Waz wrote: ↑27 Mar 2026, 22:29Tires won't be much of a factor with lower corner speeds. He is saying the car suffers the same type of issues as last year. He knows it's a different car, but seems that Ferrari develops their cars with the same "DNA" even with rule changes.
But this car has his DNA all over it doesn't it?DJ Downforce wrote: ↑28 Mar 2026, 00:22As far as I can tell the cars still have suspension, wings etc
didn't he say 'this time I have had inputs into how the car is designed' during/after Bahrain/Australia (forgot exactly when) ?FittingMechanics wrote: ↑28 Mar 2026, 00:33He is saying the car suffers the same type of issues as last year.
