This will never happen guys. Who in his right of mind will go to a team in decline 3 years in a row?
Never say never in F1. A lot of people thought Lewis made a mistake in leaving McLaren for Mercedes.
That turned out to be one of the best gambles a driver has taken. I can see Verstappen taking a gamble on
Mercedes if the Redbull PU for 2026 is a box of shrapnel waiting to explode.

Surely they aren't making a big deal out of simply resigning Perez, right?

It's a terrible decision if confirmed (IMO), unless they know something about the driver's market that we don't, which is likely of course.
.
Well, Yuki is available and Sainz is available. Both better than Perez but Perez brings a loooot of money to the team.

I think it's a bit hasty assuming Tsunoda would be an improvement on Perez.

He's doing well against a somewhat moldy Ricciardo and having a good year, but that's still very different than assuming he could be more competitive(than Perez) against Max in the same car.

Maybe it's the money, but i can also see a scenario where Verstappen leaves and keeping Perez in that case is a good decision to have a benchmark for the next driver.

I think if Max is leaving it is better when Sainz is on board. He is younger and way better than Perez!

yuki has proven in the past that he is good at driving difficult cars and that redbull is a handful.his attacking aggressieve style is suited at these generation of cars.i bet yuki will outqualify perez in canada he has done it in the las 2 races ,so i think if he join redbull he will be an improvement ironically if he is too good he will never drive for them as long as max is there.

So checo extends his contract.

What a disappointment.

Seems there’s a few unhappy faces on the Instagram broadcast post

Will he bring home enough points next year when the field could be even closer?

Of course he won’t. He can’t even this season let alone if the cars were closer.

Checo is P5 before Canada, there is only Oscar who is behind him from the top 3 teams. McLaren, Ferrari and redbull.

Russell is only 17 points behind.

Safe to say - there will be no WCC for Red Bull in 2025 if others keep up the gains they are making. Sure we all said this last year

I don't think the team expect too much from him in that aspect, Horner always says WDC brings prestige, and WCC money, and they always prefer prestige over money. Instead of a driver that can steal wins from Max, they are happy with a driver that never beat Max and brings some money to cover what they would lose from WCC. Also, Perez would be in the mix for half of the races which would be enough for Max if the car is a winning car.
