Well, feeding air to the other 95% of the car that isn't the front wing would be an idea...
So what about 2008? I guess the rear of the car was in a persistent vacuum? I just don't see where you guys think down force is going to magically appear from...

So i too think we won't see much BGP Noses.
Why do you think this? How do you expect the additional airflow to be utilised? How will airflow be used to replace exhaust blowing?

To feed the diffuser?
Which will become even more important next year.
A good EBD even allows you to reduce reliance on airflow coming from the front, especially the 2011 direct Version.

Next year watch Teams trying to emulate EBD by getting energised airflow from the front to the edge of the diffuser.

Re Noses pre-2009:
Pre 2009 they were battling for each pound of front DF.
Since then it has been a constant battle for rear DF.
In 2009 you could still afford a BGP01 nose due to the DDD.
Guess why the droop noses disappeared ever since...

I was having a bit of a play, my knowledge of the 2014 rules are pretty limited in regards to height of the actual wing so its a bit off here. Is there any reason teams wouldn't go to the pelican nose like what force india is currently running?

I don't really think it looks that bad.

Credit to blanchimont for giving me the dimensions of the base file.

Modesty panels are still allowed right?
If so perhaps teams could make the nose tip higher than the rules dictate and do a pelican design to envelope the actual structural nose.

Ferrari already did something in that sense with the F138 (using the modesty panel to get a higher nose).

The eventual tip still has to be low; either a structural nose tip or a vanity nose tip isn't going to matter in any way. Both will still block airflow the same way.

is there a possibility within the new rules to implement fw26 "walrus" style nose?

Not sure. Rules have changed. Aside that: why? The pylons aren't considered as the nose. You would still end up with the same problem.

Spotted this online of what is believed to be Scarbs mockup of what a 2014 RB "may" look like:

No.
The version from @Scarbs is as close to the walrus as you can get within the rules.

*bonks myself on the head*

Thanks, I should note to myself not to read up pages whilst on my phablet.

*edited above post*

If they cannot go the walrus way, could teams possibly go for the Mclaren style nose from 2007/08 with the dipped nose?
