F2 clearly displays why the tire heating blankets should NOT be dropped. It makes the drivers look like idiots. Even the very good ones. All for the spectacle and the shake up.

Especially in F2 a moment can kill your (hopes off) a career.

Have you got the actual tyre usage chart off last year? Surprised a lot of people only have 1 new hard/medium and some used softs.

Seems most will be gambling on the full width then. Cant see the medium-hard going the distance. Unless rain throws a ball into the mix.

The local weather station says 12:00h - 14:00h rain and maybe light thunderstorms. Most rain about 13:30h.

I dont think redbull handled albon, gasly well at all. They all were in a bad place mentally when the drove for redbull. So i dont really count their times at redbull as representative of their potential. I think most have accepted that they flourished when they left. So them being beaten by Max is pretty much like beating up on a rookie who has Helmut Marko shouting at them three times a day.
Anyhow 1.3s over Perez is very telling. I would drop Perezfor this alone. He clearly is flustered at this point or is simply not gelling with the team. It's almost as if there is a commincation barrier as the weekend develops for them to get the best out of each other. He was smashed.
Yeah, they were in a bad place because they were getting pummeled and knew they didn't have the skill to do anything about it. Obviously that's a very demoralising situation. The fact they "flourished" when they left is because their new benchmark was suddenly very beatable.

Probably a 2 stop with soft-medium-soft would've been fastest in a dry race.

I thought exactly the same.

I think you can get away without warmers at Bahrain when track temp is 40°C and there’s plenty of run off. But at and overcast Imola, Spa, Zandvoort, Silverstone, Suzuka it’s far more marginal.

In the dry conditions, I can see a one stopper working well considering the longevity of the new spec Pirelli tires. Mercedes almost pulled it off last year so I can't see why someone like Max can't.

Strategy choices will be dictated by when teams think the rain will come, as in Monaco

Rain radar shows only a bit of shower at 14:20h so probably a damp track to start with and the race with only minor drops.

You can’t really say anything about the weather, it has been very changeable the last few days. With sudden heavy rain.
