Mad:
Honda should leave F1 if Mclaren can't get top 8 this weekend. That's the best chassis on the grid and it deserves better.
Would you be willing to push it at the required speeds until McLaren find new Manufacturer Engine ?? :o :wtf: :wtf:

So.... so far a repeat of Monoco, when they bringing that dirty downforce to the front of the car?

As i predicted, after all the hyping up by Boulier & Mclaren before the weekend, all the blame will be shifted onto Honda if they don't get a good result in Singapur which is looking likely after Friday.

Sainz with an year old PU and allegedly "inferior" Chassis is 3 tenths up on Fernando.

I am guessing Bourlier's Post race explanation will be like this -

"We had to save tons of fuel".
" Chassis is great but we are still down on power compared to the 2015 Ferrari PU"

"There are better circuits than Singapore for us. I think Suzuka, Austin, Abu Dhabi are much better [for McLaren] than Singapore."
Poor Fernando's given up already.

How I just love that 'they will blame Honda again' nonsense #-o

Not a single word about Honda/engine, only grip and tires:

Alonso: Lack of grip restricting McLaren

Don't forget that the Rear Suspension will also play a big part in this "problem"

Can't wait to see the first sector times in Suzuka and COTA

That said, Singapore isn't as bad as monza. If Jenson can get a hang of his setup and Fernando can do something like he did when he was at Ferrari, we should be looking for a top 10 start for the race for at least one of them

I think the situation is not that bad.....set up tweaks overnight and fight for 7-10 is possible.(for Alonso, Button is not that good here because there are actual corners here asopposed to Monza)

Mclaren and some fans were hyping up SPA because of the Honda upgrade, then Singapore because of the track layout and now you're already looking forward to Suzuka and Cota to find evidence of Mclaren's great chassi? I mean if you have to handpick data to such extent to prove a point, the handpicking proves you wrong to begin with.

Well I was never one to say McLaren's chassis was great, nor did I ever say its the best. Its probably the 4th best, but is shown to be worse than that by the Honda engine. Spa turned out to be good, Monza can be explained. I think Singapore can be explained the same as Monaco. Don't forget hungary either

But I never said McLaren had the best chassis, just pointing that out

To add to that, Renault said that Honda is still way off. That necessitates some hand picking from areas of tracks which are least engine dependant to get a clearer picture of how the each chassis ranks

The car seems to be balanced but just lacks overall grip. Seems to me as a lack of mechanical grip. They can't get their tyres to bite onto the track. Their performance in Monaco backs that up. Toro Rosso and Force India have superior mechanical grip although aerodynamically, I reckon the McLaren is better.

That Torro-Rosso chassis might not have the fancy cuts in the rear wing and all the advanced aerodynamic bits and pieces but i think it's a very sound handling overall superior chassis compared to Mclaren's. A bit like Redbull's.
Sainz has been saying that they will be able to beat Mclaren in the slower circuits like Singapore and this shows.
Waiting for Boulier's response.

And the Mercs looks so stable over the bumps. Mclaren has a looooong way to go before they can even think of beating the Mercs both Chassis and Engine wise.

This GP is last chance. If McLaren Honda together will still be fighting with ToroRosso Williams and Force India to get eventually and possibly few points from one driver it means the project is over right now and will not be possible to recover for 2017 the distance from top teams; Maybe podiums will come in 2018, Poor Alonso, his carreer is ending up sadly. Next years will be Redbul/Mercedes battle and Alonso Vettel Button should retire for the sake of theyr psyco resistance
