P5 is not too bad. I was hoping he'd keep Russell behind. But Red Bull Racing might be back.
Would have been 3rd without the spin on lap 1 (and probably if they didn't pit during the safety car), but atleast there's a base of a car now. 50 laps on hard would have been impossible with the pre-Miami car.
Without the extra 6kgs, Max could have been fighting for the win today, I think. The car is now right in the ballpark to fight for podiums, I've also seen people on twitter say Max lost is front wing dive plane, so that also could have had some effect on the pace.
All in all, great progress this weekend, there's now a path to having the fastest car this season.

That strategy was... something. Max put himself in a hard spot with the lap 1 mistake, without that P3 would have been possible. Still missing a chunk though, the pace was better in the sprint.
Yeah p3 was probably the maximum today when everything went perfect, Kimi, Norris were just faster still. But I take it, a podium will come soon, maybe already in Montreal. It was good to see a good improvement after Japan where we were nowhere. A few more steps forward and Red Bull will be back in the hunt. But time is needed now they have again 3 weeks for new updates. Never stop believing. Max has shown amazing overtakes today, mistakes happen. We are all human.

Can we really make that comparison? He was on much older tires after lap 30. Think it would have been 7-8 seconds behind Antonelli and Norris in a clean race.

The pace was really good for 20-25 laps, then he started falling off a bit, also he wasn't really driving a free race, it was full push throughout whilst also overtaking a lot of cars, not much management going on.
I think Max would have easily snatched a podium here without the spin. He might have even played a role in the lead. I doubt he would let people by so easily if he was fighting for important positions.
Amateur mistake from VER likewise LEC at the end, I don’t wanna bring comparison but here I’m, these two teams are not close Merc and McL at the moment.

He started the stint lap 13, on a 33.5, overtook a bunch of cars, spent a lot of time doing 33.1-33.3 until lap 50, and then only slowed down when he started battling Russell on lap 52. He also was missing the diveplane on the front wing the whole time.

Also , if he did not fight Leclerc and Piastri, Russell would have run out of time to pass him. I don't now if the team informed it properly of that fact.
