Safety car stopped the undercut on Russell. On the other hand, has that taken Alonso out the picture? Was worried about him later on.
I believe Alpine bottled it by leaving Alonso out… We should get back to P6 after the race resumes… Magnussen is also out of order… Not a bad outlook at this point in the race

Yeah, status quo it seems.

Don’t quite have the straight line speed for overtakes do we- suspect we’ve got quite a high DF set up?

Seems so. Lando needs to clear K-Mag ASAP.

Edit: he must have heard me, I'll take credit.

Which is not entirely a bad thing… yes, it makes overtakes a bit harder, but it protects het ire’s… Look at Riseell and Perez… The RB18 has a massive straight line speed advantage, but Perez is struggling to make the overtake

We are definitely missing some race pace against Mercedes… But, if we finish the way we are…. It is a great result given how this season has started

We need to send Albon and Stroll a thank you basket after this race is over… Helping build a good gap to the guys behind

Yeah, this is it for McLaren, Mercs pulling away each lap. Managing the gap well behind, probably saving the tyres just incase.

Makes absolute sense… We didn’t had the pace to bring the fight to Mercedes, it is smart to bring the cars home and safe a bit of engine too… Good gap to Albon / Ocon (Albon still needs to pit)… P5 and P6 it’s a great result all things considered… Great result for a P4 in the Championship as the goal… Outscoring Alpine which is the current goal

Formation finish had me worried Lando had an issue! Lol. Great result, solid showing on this type of track. Can expect a similar showing in 2 weeks at Imola.

If there is one thing this season has taught me… Is that I shouldn’t put any money in how McLaren will finish a race… Time to go to bed… A bit drunk! Hahaha… enjoyed having a race so late in the day… switching coffee for bourbon tonight :)

Lando did have an issue. Listening to car radio.... Team was managing an issue. Sounded fuel or gearbox related. Good result given the circumstances!

That's a nice leap up to 4th in the constructors. Lots of work to do though but the team should get a nice boost.
