Wow this car looks extremely basic. The bargeboard/fence is super primitive, the sidepods look super boxy, with opening that looks almost exactly like the Ferrari F1-75. The front wing looks almost like the FIA show car, with no interesting geometry or wavy wing elements.

I don't know what I expected out of a new team in a pre-pre-season test, but man it looks so extremely primitive.

This team does not look like it will pull a Haas and score in their first race. You can tell just by looking at it that it won't be any good. It's way too similar to the FIA show car. That is unless Cadillac is essentially just testing the engine and will bring a much more developed concept to race 1.

This is my first time seeing a new team enter F1, so maybe this is normal and expected?

Where is the front wing active aero?

Looks like under the nose cone. It's visible in the last photo posted by edu.

Funny sounding at idle and low revs. Clearly, harvesting as much as capable.

Very basic barge board design. RW the upper two elements are large and pushed forward compared to what we saw on the RB22 render. Driver position pretty far forward. Sidepods not as sleek as renders from RB22. Floor support stay back. Front pull rod. Rear push rod.

Front pullrod. First of that we've seen. Looks like it might be pushrod at the rear.

Pullrod front suspension. Do they use Ferrari suspension?
I think pullrod rear as well.
Also very very small air intakes.
It looks like pushrod rear to me.
Maybe you are right, it could be push at the rear.

Well overall the shapes do look basic, but I think it's interesting how they have this "curved" top bit in the deflector and also a seemingly second element further inwards close to the chassis. I was under the impression that those would not be allowed in 2026 cars?

Disclaimer : I am not sure if AI touched this photo or not though. Might be hallucinated detail.

There is also a car tread for this (nameless?) car now:

I can only hope that this is their plan. Although it's not a 100% guarantee that a "basic" looking car will automatically mean slow. The 2017 Red Bull and Williams were hilariously simple at launch compared to where they ended up by the end of the season, let alone the regulation cycle.

IIRC when Haas first entered, the car did have decent pace but there were still a lot of teething issues at the first test(s). I think the front wing fell off one or twice and there were a myriad of other niggles as well.

IMO the car running at anything faster than 100kph for any length of time on day 1 of the team's on-track existence is a good sign.

Personally, I believe that, being a new team, there's a greater need to get the car on the track as soon as possible, even if it's still in a very early stage of development, to gather track data they don't have, to better understand and develop the car based on that data.

Nice video showcasing Cadillac's operations and facilities.

Obviously they will be the slowest team / Last this year , this is a new team.
The question is how far they will be

I know this is a new team but man this looks somehow more basic than the FIA render.
Things like the overly big nose and the single element floor board make me think they haven't really got their manufacturing side quite on the level it needs to be yet.

Floor board looks more wrapped in vinyl than single piece of carbon
