Wheatley is a smart guy...he wants to be TP and knows he has a long career ahead of him. He wouldn't have signed up for this if it was a suicide mission. Clearly he must be impressed with what he is seeing there.

Binotto replaced Seidl. Wheatley will be replacing Bravi most likely. CEO and TP are different roles at most teams

So Audi hasn't said anything official about Wheatly. Sounds like this wasn't a Bonnito hire and maybe hiring was supposed to be put on hold for the regime change
