What do we think of this trofee?

It's ugly as sin because it's way too wide, but it's a very cool concept that feels very appropriate for what is the home race for most teams.

I'd say like a 6/10. I'd take this over a Heineken trophy any day.

If the crown elements were also made from metal and flowed into the base I think it could be lovely (and remove the scrapheap parts from the centre).

Sculpture in carbon fibre hasn’t been interesting or cool since at least 2004.

RB and Ferrari same as Austria (last year both teams also used same wings in both races) and McLaren went to low-mid wing, last used in Imola I think. Other teams are mixed. Beam wings will surely be smaller than Austria on all cars that use same rear wing as in Austria
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

Max and Lando had a great chat. Everything is good now. Good to see Lando like this as always.

Ferarri and Redbull look almost same as the pics I remember from Austria (which would be what ? mid ?).
Do these two tracks demand the same DF level ? confusing, I thought silverstone requires higher DF than Austria
The McLaren one definitely looks lower DF than Austria (low-mid?) - which is even more perplexing.

Ferrari has been running close to Monza spec rear wing in Silverstone for few years and has done well. In the current regulations set, this circuit isn't high downforce rear wing dependent anymore, or even medium.

Here are rear wings from last year.

The obsession with the nature/status of their relationship is weird/creepy/sad.

Why? Could you perhaps explain that? What do you mean?

I’d suggest a google for “parasocial relationships”. They’ve gotten particularly out-of-hand in the social media age.

I can bet my bottom dollar that wheel-to-wheel racing will be even more fierce than before. They are human beings, not machines. Of course, trained professionals to the extent that the separation between racing and personal life will be much better than the average layman. But it's not like they are AI bots, at some point the two worlds will meet. IQ and EQ are not two mutually exclusive subroutines in the brain.

Lando is always going to lose out to Max if he's more worried about their friendship than the win. It's great that they're friends but I would bet that Max, like Michael, Ayrton, Fernando, Lewis, etc., would sell Lando down the river in an instant to take the win. If Lando can't, then he won't beat Max.

Lewis and Nico showed what happens when two friends both really, really, want to win. The friendship doesn't survive.
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.
