Some rumors said George's tires weighed 1.2 kg less than Lewis's. Who was this guy, and how reliable is the source?
Are they allowed? would seem odd allowing a team to look / study the tyres after a race? unless they had an issue, do Pirelli not take the tyres from teams as soon as they are removed, to be tested, compressed, packaged and shipped to be burnt as fuel? No one goes near LH car while they are checking GR car, with the tyres on, then checked the tyres off the car, and then with the pre approved dry weather tyre on, as can be seen in teds notebook who was live as they ran the tests.
No, thats wrong.

In Parc Fermè while weighing GR car etc, they removed the wheels from GR car first, then the MB staff came over to LH car with the nitrogen bottle nut spinner to undo his wheels too. In view was them undoing both RHS wheels (although camera cut away before removal took place). It was clearly undertaken in PF environment and not later.

The car still had to finish, on those tyres raced, then be above the minimum required weight, rubber loss inclusive.

They seemed to be investigating under instruction/jurisdiction of FIA stewards to give some insight. Whether this was requested by MB or they were directed to do so, it's not clear.

The reality is that GR car went to start at below minimum chassis weight to take account of race events. Meaning the team's calculation was wrong or just too close to the margin for them to come out of the race above weight regulation.

They have a "standard" tyre, I believe, to check suspect weight under wet conditions. That to avoid the teams making gain/adjustment etc in those circumstances. Wet tyres can be both above or below slicks in weight at various points. That aspect cannot be used to get out of a situation by a teams interpretation of the rules .

There is no mystery about this, only face saving in post exclusion statements.

They have cut the start weight to absolute minimum (all will be trying to achieve this of course) but tripped themselves in this case.
yeah i didnt watch earlier part of vid, dont watch notebook, i just watched what was time stamped linked - LH tyres are never removed though, and Ted and some other dude are talking about the FIA checking the weight of brand new tyres, just before he walks towards the redbull garage.

But my bad, thanks for putting me right
