The reason I watch racing on TV and not in person is directly related to the noise level.

Maybe I have just outgrown that connection between my ears and my libido?

Over-loud engines don't turn me on. The BEST of anything is what really lights my candle, and the ICE is, at this point, too old to be the BEST.
What are you, like 90? I bet you tell them to turn down the music at music concerts :P

LOL! You damn kids and your high revs and your noisy spark plugs!

I can't find anything about whether Audi and Peugeot's diesel was refined from fossil fuel or biodiesel but I guess they would've made a big deal of it if it were biodiesel. I think that should be the rule: if you're going to run diesel, it has to be from a carbon-neutral source. Seems like a decent way to balance out the performance difference and loss of viewer interest for LeMans.

For F1 I say f**k it; let's keep the gasoline ICE until someone makes a 400hp fuel cell.

Actually, it is the shouting to communicate things like "bathroom" over the noise.

I saw an indoor electric kart race in February that was absolutely insane. And everyone in the stadium was able to talk at a normal level.

That was a good time!

You can talk when all cars passed by until next lap.
That should be enough.

Ah I remember my first Formula 1 race live at the track of Monza 1999.
It was really similar like in this video it is even exactly the same place.
I must say this was amazing when you are standing just 3-5 meters away of the cars the sound is much more impressive than anything else.
