Should the threads about which driver should replace Massa be merged? I think so.

So far there are two; Alonso or Schumacher.

Ciro, whenever you get the chance please do so.

Most probably, with Ferrari's season already almost wasted, they would like to try out some of their younger talents.

-> Bourdais: has some experience with the Ferrari engine and while true, he's not competetive and still has contract issues he feels he needs to sort with Toro Rosso.

-> Rossi: had some tests with the Ferrari why not let him give it a try Unlikely due to his MotoGP commitments and probably not even having a superlicence.

-> Alonso: If he signed a contract for next year he could jump over contractually obligated to be with Renault

-> Villeneuve: As he is back next year he could get some race time now. Doubt Ferrari would want he who is probably the least best champion the sport has seen.

The testdrivers Badoer and Gene don't have a lot of race time on the machine this year due too the lack of testing. Maybe one of the two test drivers has a clause in his contract to take place if one drivers fails.

Loeb wants to go to F1 but he is linked to Red Bull so no go for him.
Gene, Badoer and Schumacher still have contracts with Ferrari however Schumacher's probably has nothing in it about driving. Gene I imagine will be top of the list seeing as he has the most recent F1 racing experience (not that it means a whole lot). Ferrari have a habit of bringing only F1 proven drivers rather than rookies so I don't see a driver from the lower formulae coming in.

Do they have any? It looks like a possibility to give Gene some proper etsting milage. Also Bourdais is available. :-"

ritto!

I would love to see Fernando driving a Ferrari - obviously gonna help Ferrari for next year's car with Fernando (provided he is moving on to Ferrari; nobody knows yet.....! :!: ) learning his driving style and getting valuable feedback from him. He is a world-class racer, proven at many times. Goddamn it, Renault have been banned for one next race, Valencia. Fernando would be furious if he misses his home GP - I would be most disappointed not seeing Fernando on the grid :( :( :?

Let's hope he will drive, whichever is the darn car.....

The way this Team has been run recently, maybe they shouldn't bring anyone in to replace Massa but concentrate on one car! They did a wonderful job in Hungary!
If they have to, they can use either Gene or Badoer for some real time testing. Kimi should be able to finish on the podium for all the rest of the races to maintain Ferrari 3rd on the Constructors standings and they can start developing next year's car!!

Is it possible that Schumacher refuses to replace Massa since he is affaid to be outclassed by Kimi in term of race performance? :?

Either way, I really hope that Schumacher can replace Massa until Massa can fully recover [-o< . I really miss his dominating race performance. Even when he found himself in lowly race position, he could somehow charge through the field and claim some points, or even podiums. I don't quite see that Kimi and Massa have that sheer determination as Schumacher has. Ferrari really needs the flair of Schumacher.

I think bourdais could actually do pretty well in a Ferrari. They should give him a go.

My opinion as well.
I guess it'll be either Badoer or Gene. No one else.

Agree!

Apart from the contract it's very unethical towards Renault and Massa himself. Besides, who would gain with the extra information that Alonso would bring? Ferrari? Renault? Mike Coughlan?
