Vergne has the personality of a beige carpet. He's so damn boring, as is Di Resta. I don't think Vergne is the more marketable driver.Websta wrote:Although not necessarily relevant, Vergne is seriously cool. Does anyone agree or am I just behaving like a school girl?
If the STR drivers couldn't be split by their driving talent, perhaps RBR would go with the more marketable driver and I believe Vergne might have that edge. Not that Ricciardo hasn't got a great personality and isn't a nice guy or anything, but Vergne seems to be the more "Red Bull" of the two.
Just a thought. I still think they'll go with Raikkonen if they can though.
I have to agree, it like he's trying to be a Kimi clone but failing dismally as Kimi is actually cool!krisfx wrote:

Don't worry. I certainly can see what you're talking about.Websta wrote:Maybe I just have a man crush on JEV
That's a good point, he is actually very similar to pre-2013 Vettel in terms of "boyish" charm now that I think about it.irang wrote:Don't worry. Speaking of marketability, apart from few rare exceptions, good English seems to be a prerequisite skill set with all the PR exercise these days. JEV's is impressive but Daniel is the obvious winner in that regard. You get the sense that English speaking media, who set the general tone, are unsurprisingly very fond of Dan and his bubbly personality.
Well on the other hand, Kimi is as engaging as a rock and people love him because he doesn´t give a damn.krisfx wrote:Vergne has the personality of a beige carpet. He's so damn boring, as is Di Resta. I don't think Vergne is the more marketable driver.

Which is the same phenomenon you see with girls liking idiots instead of the nice guy.
Yeah, that's what makes him awesome, though aha.SectorOne wrote:Raikkonen and Mikka are completely different though in terms of personality.
They both don´t say much but after that there´s not many similarities other then being from Finland.
I like Kimi too but because of his driving. If i had to listen to an interview with him i´d fall asleep in 2 minutes.
Edit: it should also be noted a lot of the times you are laughing at him, not with him.
Perez incident in China, he´s pissed, you are laughing at him screaming "whatta hell he´s doing"
Or Abu Dhabi "leave me alone i know what i´m doing"
That´s Kimi serious yet we laugh, at him.

That would be awesome actually, and could make sense. Button and Vettel have similar wants from a car. I'd love to see DiResta take Button's seat at McLaren (though whether he would with their below FI performance this year is another matter).oT v1 wrote:http://images.sodahead.com/polls/001117 ... large.jpegRacer X wrote:Sky sports says Jenson Button could replace him.

in all seriousness i think he'd be the perfect no.2 to Vettel, consistent/mature enough and potentially less of risk than RAI.
Who will line up with Perez at Macca?
