A good story about Wirth & Virgin Racing from Badger GP. While the all-CFD approach was an ambitious move, and it perhaps could have been a success, generally it's not wise for a small new team to start doing things differently. First get the basics right, and then perhaps you can start being experimental.
The old Arrows factory in Leafield is currently occupied by Formtech, who IIRC is already doing some stuff for other F1 teams. So i think they have a reasonable infrastructure. There is some ex-F1 people working there? Does anyone know how "good" are they?
About this whole break up thing, i don't quite understand why cut all ties with Wirth Research. Wirth is still a shareholder isn't he? It's obvious that a change was needed, and a new techical director and new design team is a good start. But Wirth Research does have one of the largest CFD facilities in the world (atleast that's what i've read) and that would surely come handy in the future aswell. Is that now gone too?
Besides that, i think that the team has a brighter future ahead. Especially the rumours about a possible technical partnership with McLaren/Mercedes is good news. Force India and Lotus have shown that it's the right way to go for a small team. Wirth still has a couple upgrades coming to the car this year, and hopefully those will enable Glock & d'Ambrosio to fight with the Lotuses. Timo seemed quite inspired after Monaco, where for the first time this year he was actually able to race with the back of the midfield. The lack of downforce doesn't hurt that much in Canada either, so maybe he'll have a good race there aswell.
