Lando hopes that the update can give one second. But this is more of a joke.Ground Effect wrote: ↑30 Apr 2019, 10:16I find the one second reference is interesting, because Carlos also referenced one second on Sunday, saying they're currently one second from where they need to be... Maybe that is their target, but we don't know whether for over the rest of the season. It would be near impossible to find one second in the first quarter of the season, with a car that doesn't have a fundamental flaw.
I know you're depressed because your god Fernando retired, but don't take it out on our drivers. We all appreciate Fernando's talents and contributions to McLaren F1 team, he's still in the family. Meanwhile, go make a Fernando tribute page. Or better still, be more aggressive with your propaganda campaign to get Ferrari to rehire him. Just layoff our young drivers who are doing a fantastic job.GoranF1 wrote: ↑30 Apr 2019, 08:37Even Sainz is clearly faster than Norris, Sainz who was clearly beaten by Hulkenberg who is mediocore driver, not to say he was destroyed by overrated and hyped Crashstapen. So yeah Norris is in F1 10%on talent 90%on Daddy.zoroastar wrote: ↑30 Apr 2019, 01:30where is your evidence that landos dad is paying mclaren for his seat? or that he has mega endorsements like perez? if you have them then post them up, if not, then why are you even saying this? alonso had a big bank endorsement when he went to ferrari, does that make him a pay driver too?

Small steps as long as they are all forward.
This car is looking better than the last few years so onwards and upwards.
Seems almost entirely do and very little die right now.

This pecking order is based on ‘my-simple-maths’ on the times that were set during qualifying, specifically in Q3, but also Q2 revealing a few things here and there.
McLaren
Down 1.4 seconds on the top time but three tenths better than their best effort two weeks earlier in Shanghai;
Fastest of the Renault posse, McLaren improved dramatically after their China disappointment the Woking outfit found three tenths out of their package which was put to good use by both Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz. The pair also delivering a double points finish in the race.
Both orange cars progressed to Q3 but neither Renault works car was among the top ten. McLaren four-tenths quicker with Norris than Daniel Ricciardo’s best effort in Q2.
One C1 tyre too many in my opinion. Should have gone with 3 C2's (mediums) instead.
This rubber will be needed to test the new aerodynamic elements.Ground Effect wrote: ↑30 Apr 2019, 13:13One C1 tyre too many in my opinion. Should have gone with 3 C2's (mediums) instead.

Interesting to see. What is great is that our pace in the race is much better.mclaren111 wrote: ↑30 Apr 2019, 13:02GrandPrix24/7

Good improvement with a new car... Gap in 2018 was 2.5 seconds...
Sainz probably would've qualified 1 or 2 places higher if not for the yellow flag. His Q2 time was only a tenth down on Norris' Q3 time.mwillems wrote: ↑30 Apr 2019, 14:13Interesting to see. What is great is that our pace in the race is much better.mclaren111 wrote: ↑30 Apr 2019, 13:02GrandPrix24/7

I'd be happier if we could make the car faster over one lap more than anything else as race pace is fairly strong. Being ahead of the midfield and in behind Red Bull would alter our racing outlooks quite a lot.
