Off season fun fact: Toro Rosso means Red Bull in Italian.
Bonus fact. It was originally called Red Gaur, or Krating Deng in Thai.
It means Red Gaur, which is the biggest bull in the world (2.2 mtr at the shoulder).

Does he have enough points for a super license?

Not sure he has enough birthdays either.

He is 19 now, older than Max was, so not too young anyway. Looking at his results, he is nothing special. If it wasn't for his surname, he probably would not get the attention.

They brought the lower age limit in since though. I did not remember if it was 18,19 or 20

how does "toxic team and toxic teammate" account for him losing 17 straight qualifying sessions? thats a silly remark. f1 is all about performing under pressure. i like Stoffel a lot. hes probably a lot better than his results show, but it has nothing to do with a toxic work environment.
Alonso is the most skilled and experienced driver on the grid and there is no chance in hell even Riccardo could out-qualify him in the same car but that is besides the point. I think there is plenty of writing online as well as interviews how OCD is Alonso and how his work ethics kills the chemistry in the whole team (reason he was fired from Ferrari).

Being a 2nd driver for Alonso is game over for you pretty much, you can read how hard it is to work with him unless you work for him just like the whole team does right now. Vandoorne is currently not racing Alonso, he is racing for Alonso which not only means strategy but as well as mechanical setup, parts, quality of the car and so on. It's way too obvious on screen if you watch the race anyway, there is a clear line between driver's skills and then there is a clear difference on screen how Alsonso's car behaves and how Stoffel's car behaves.
Ferrari was trying to renew Alonso's contract till 2019. It's public knowledge, look it up.
Lets not stray way too off topic here but didn't that Ferrari management got sacked together with Alonso? Same thing is happening with McLaren right now.

Anyway I feel really bad for Alonso as he is the driver who has guts and mad skillz to surpass or match Schumi's record but everything went downhill after he left McLaren for the first time. Had he stayed he would have found himself in a much better place but instead it has been controversy after controversy surrounding him after he had left. It's a shame he has burnt that Honda bridge as that's most likely THE reason why RBR will not touch him for the next season. If anyone was going to park that next year RBR Honda car on the middle step of the podium that would have been Alonso. I don't give Max any chances at all let alone Gasly.

Max is a proven race winner. If he has the car, he'll get wins.

Its true, he's won as many races as Alesi, Panis , Maldonado and Kovalainen put together!

Or

The same as Eddie Irvine, and he nearly lucked in to a championship!

Any current driver can win if they have "the car" to do it...

No, Marco was trying to get him signed in the meeting they fell out in. Alonso wanted his gentleman's agreement with Luca that he could leave at the end of 2014 to stand with the new bosses and they wanted a show of commitment to the new regime by extending to the end of 2019. Even James Allison talked about trying to convince Alonso to change his mind.

There was no firing, as there isn't with McLaren now.

So a possible Vergne / Wehrlein lineup at the team next season.

Toro Rosso have offered Vergne a seat for 2019 according to veteran f1 reporter Roger Benoit - https://amp.blick.ch/sport/formel1/tran ... 42987.html

Wehrlein rumour seen on Autosport's silly season thread says:

https://forums.autosport.com/topic/2080 ... try8482808
Okay just heard from a reliable person that Wehrlein is being lined up to driver for TR and Merc will release him from DTM
