Yep, Andy Cowell and Adrian Newey have more than what it takes to get to the top. Aston should be more worried about their driver line-up because everything on the technical side is looking good for the future.
100%.
Alonso is the GOAT and the best driver of the grid, only verstappen can be a real menace to him.Quantum wrote: ↑09 Jul 2025, 12:34100%.
Red Bull slaying the aerodynamic golden goose came with consequences. Stroll will be or should be aware of that.
Besides, having Cowell work with Newey is the perfect symbiosis between aero and engine chassis integration that is coordinated from top down.
Stroll Jr and Alonso isn't a strong line up, but it might be sufficient until Max becomes available.
Trust me with a fast car, it is a strong lineup, not the best, but for sure strong. People need to stop this narrative that Max can go to any team and be the same Max he is in RB. I'm not taking anything away from Max and his mega talent, but I think he would struggle in a different car than a very pointy and direct RB. He hates understeer, and most cars on the grid have more understeer than RB. Remember Daniel? He was amazing in RB, but struggled a lot in Renault and McLaren due to the different characteristics of the car compared to the RB.Quantum wrote: ↑09 Jul 2025, 12:34100%.

It's speculation, but my feeling is there is something to it.
It’s not as if Newey would be departing because of a general malaise within the team, either; this is very much a personal issue based around the Christian Horner controversy regarding the employee who served as PA to both Horner and Newey.
I'm still extremely skeptical. It came around a time when parts of Red Bull wanted Horner gone, this kind of thing could easily be a lean designed to undermine Horner without much truth by the Austrian side that wanted him out, if the leak came from someone connected to Newey then well I think we have an answer. I take those stories with a bit of a grain of salt - I think Huges no doubt had a source but who and their motives - I'd say the same as Newey's statement when leaving it could easily just been part of the agreement to let him out of his contract and gardening leave to say something nice about CH etc even though he was big part of the reason he was leaving.FNTC wrote: ↑09 Jul 2025, 14:37It's speculation, but my feeling is there is something to it.

That's how I understood it. That they choose Horner over Newey back then.FNTC wrote: ↑09 Jul 2025, 14:37It's speculation, but my feeling is there is something to it.

It was pointed out by someone in the Red Bull thread a few days ago the current generation RB cars haven't been pointy/on the nose for years since the current gen of ground effects cars. Prior to that sure but not since.wiktor977 wrote: ↑09 Jul 2025, 14:34Trust me with a fast car, it is a strong lineup, not the best, but for sure strong. yeah the only question i have about that is whether cowell actually plans to be TP long term, or if it was done temporarily while they are restructuring personel. the one way that we will have the answer of who caused newey to leave redbull (if any one person) is if aston were to hire horner. if they did, newey would be asked first. regardless, itll probably be at least a year before he can start working at another team anyway.r85 wrote: ↑09 Jul 2025, 12:24Yep, Andy Cowell and Adrian Newey have more than what it takes to get to the top.
