Hey mate no issues. The Championship will be over before Europe. If Mclaren or say Team X have the 3rd or 4th fastest car & if Team Y have the fastest car by a while. Then Team X or Mclaren will be like 45-50 points behind. That is very hard to overcome.banibhusan wrote:Agreed!! The major upgrade part was only for races after the first round of fly away races when teams usually get a major upgrade to the car.Mr.S wrote: Whoever will do will get screwed badly. Last year Mclaren got lucky with their exhaust but that does not happen every year. It takes a lot of time to understand each component & get the pace out of the upgrade package.
In case of Mercedes all their upgrades failed & they aborted the whole package in Australia. I doubt if there can be ANY big or Game Changing Upogrades. Maybe a few tenths here & there but nothing Major.
Besides all teams would like to complete most of their upgrades by the last test. I am sure that last 2 Practise Sessions (p2 & P3)will most be focussed on finding a proper balance & setups for both short & long runs.
Having 1 Practise Session to understand any major Upgrade can be Counter Productive.
I referred to Australia to have an initial idea of who is where. I am not really sure which teams have planned upgrades for Australia or for any other fly away races.
Sorry for the confusion. Bad sentence formation may be!!
It still seems way too early to tell. James Allen is saying they're just upset they're not ahead of Red Bull - because that's what they expected.Hail22 wrote:Highlights so far: McLaren and Red Bull are close with Ferrari struggling and Mercedes looking good. (Autosport).
Looks like Ferrari will have another lack luster year, or is this an indirect protest approaching the concorde negotiations later this year?
If only we had a reincarnate of Gilles Villeneuve...if only...himself and Stirling Moss used to be great people at breaking in a new car.f1316 wrote:It still seems way too early to tell. He also says (in the comments section) that it's generally felt that the F2012 has potential, it's just a question of unlocking it. Hence why they're continually gathering data!
I thought you said they were sandbagging and they are better with their tires this season? what did you noticed or read today?Hail22 wrote:Well i have written Ferrari off...
Saying Mclaren without EBD & with this car will be as quick as RB8 to begin with is equally STUPID.JohnsonsEvilTwin wrote:Writing McLaren off and putting Mercedes ahead of them is plain STUPID.
There, I've said it.
I hope it wasn't the "Highlights so far: McLaren and Red Bull are close with Ferrari struggling and Mercedes looking good. (Autosport)" - since that was only sent by a fan!CHT wrote:I thought you said they were sandbagging and they are better with their tires this season? what did you noticed or read today?Hail22 wrote:Well i have written Ferrari off...
First of all the unwillingness from Scuderia Ferrari to update criticism via their twitter, they currently are being swamped by users.CHT wrote:I thought you said they were sandbagging and they are better with their tires this season? what did you noticed or read today?Hail22 wrote:Well i have written Ferrari off...
Speaking of two seconds down on your rivals, Andrew Benson on Twitter:Hail22 wrote:CHT wrote:Hail22 wrote: Compared to other teams and if they are on similar loads Ferrari is a good 2 seconds down on their rivals and the tyres are falling away too quickly.

Ferrari stopped after only 35 laps for the morning stint, Massas 10 lap times were as follow:
In 9 laps he did from beginning a 1:26.469 (13) at the end of the 9 laps he was gradually going slower finishing with a 1:37.633 (21)
Compared to other teams and if they are on similar loads Ferrari is a good 2 seconds down on their rivals and the tyres are falling away too quickly.
