Well clearly Mclaren has some problems whit tyres its same time as Magnussen on harder tyre.....not bad in the end but Vandoorne time proves it not the car its Alonso.....again.

Vandoorne just isnt a McLaren driver.

Sorry to burst your bubble Goran but the car is clearly having problems with the tyres. The only reason it's not up there with the first 3 are the tyres. The car is clearly faster than it shows and Vandoorne is not worth being on Mclaren with that kind of performance.

Overall they improved a lot. Now I hope for another large upgrade that will also solve the tyre problem.

Solid result. Updates have given McLaren good gain in performance. Still work to do if they want to fight for championships, but we’re getting there.

I expect a lonely race for Fernando tomorrow. Haas are no match in race pace.

I think it was 1.5 seconds before. Mclaren have definately closed the gap to the first 3 and if they didn't still have tyre warmth problems they could have been up there. I have high expectations from them to bring a large upgrade in every race from now on.

I think not being able to warm their tyres for that qualifying lap costs them a lot.

I'm pleased with the Qualy result, we missed P7 by 0.04 to MAG, and I'm sure in the race tomorrow we can improve.

Very happy with quali results. Good effort to at +0,9s from Red Bull. Probably gains from 3 tenths to half sec against Red Bull and Renault.

8th and 1.6s behind pole. You can complain about Mclarens pace, the tyres and say that Alonso is carrying the team all you like.

We took a strong step forward and Mclaren have delivered what they hoped at this race. Like they invest in car development as part of the package they invest in a strong driver, so Mclaren earnt that place. People complain that F1 is all about the cars, but when the driver makes the difference, they still moan about the car

When ricciardo put the soft he didnt improve but alonso did in the soft so they have trouble with the ss at least in quali
