Tire blankets warm to 70C and preferred tire temps are around 100. Would I be correct in saying that 2-3 degree swings in the air temperature or track temperature don't change much? In fact it's only 2-3% of the preferred tire operating temperature.

It can have an effect, because teams usually want to hit the minimum temps right on the button. Blankets can only be run for 2 hours maximum, and they can't over heat them or they get penalized. So the teams are always playing a balancing act, trying to get the temps as low as possible while still having a safety margin for when the FIA/Pirelli actual check them.

Slightly cooler but much windier than previous days. Sf23 will struggle with the wind

Does Williams still struggle with wind?

Don't think so. Their best weekends this year at least pace-wise have been at Silverstone, Zandvoort where it is always reasonably windy

Yes, the race was a procession and everyone saw it's hard to overtake so it's worth risking it in T1 too...

Albon mentioned the wind as the reason for poor performance this Friday as well as one of the days in Qatar. So I do think it can still be an issue for Williams.

Now that you say this, Albon was talking after qualifying at Zandvoort how they got really lucky. He said the wind direction on Saturday flipped relative to fp1 & fp2 which really helped them relative to others. So that's another indication of them being more wind sensitive than others

Sainz and Russell are likely going to be booby traps for Verstappen 🪤

The two of them have quite a record in the first lap…
