Quite right. Ferrari are just marshalling the radiator air away in the least disruptive way possible.

Is it?
They don't, they are merely an alternative for a huge air exit at the rear.
No, this mildly warm air has no value and is completely undesirable.but you can also do something with the hot air under certain circumstances.
It has no energy as this usable energy has been spent collecting heat from the radiators. If this air had any energy it would solely mean that you aren't cooling your engine as effectively as you could have. But i just feel its a lot of energy in that air and a lot of temperature difference with the free stream. It could be used for something.
Internal stays to stiffen the floor, You can see where the carbon on the surface of the floor has been cut away and stay added in and then re-laminated over the topGrizzleBoy wrote: ↑07 Jul 2022, 19:48What is significant about metal parts?
Just looks like mounting points, no?
I can’t think of a single scenario where radiator air is beneficial, and it’s often seen as a hindrance. It’s just something to exhaust and you put it where it does the least harm. It’s always going to be flowing slower than the air on the body of the car, of course you use this pressure gradient to make the flow through the radiator more efficient, but if aerodynamicists could get rid of it, they would love to.
Nice find, thanks !Goblin42 wrote: ↑07 Jul 2022, 22:05Mercedes floor from Russel's crash last week
