I don't know if Max is saving those tyres but 7 laps newer tyres sounds like quite a thing.

Mercedes just have to monitor Perez window. Verstapen is not flying as expected.

Max's tyres is gonna fall off. There's no way he is making 26-27 laps when he was struggling after 15 laps with the Hards (Low fuel or otherwise). This is Hamilton's race to lose !
He didn't appear to be struggling though. I am actually not sure why Red Bull stopped, it seems very odd indeed.
They went early in the 1st Stop. Lap 1 was too early, pace was good. Should have hung on for 3-4 laps more - I don't think Mercedes planned a pitstop @ Lap 11 or 12 !

It won't be easy to catch up and then overtaking will probably be even harder, think Max has got the win here.

Hamilton needs to make up nearly 9 seconds, and then pass Verstappen. I don't rate his chances. Maybe he should activate The Device™

The black and white flag thing is annoying.

Like, I get it, but I hate how much race control dictates the one track action.

Here comes the squeeze! Did max get bad traffic or is that pure Lewis leaning on his tyres? On raw speed and how close RBR was able to follow I would say impossible…but maybe the RBR tyres can’t hold up

Rai/tsunoda held Verstappen up badly (kimi got a black and white flag), Hamilton was let through in a breeze. So thst definitely played a part.

Unless Verstappen's tyres fall off a cliff, I can't see Hamilton making this happen.

On another note, there have been seem great drives this afternoon. Sainz, Ricciardo, Tsunoda all doing well versus their team mates today.

Probably around 2/2.5s in it. On top of the pace advantage. Grandstand finish now. Can’t see how VER is going to defend that. Strange pit wall tyre strat for VER. It was all very early to protect for an undercut.
