The off-season is fun. Trying to read who is doing what, who is bluffing who ... and this time, actually no-one remotely knows where they're going to be because of the complete overhaul of the regs.

The best part! I'm a little bummed about the first test being totally private though. Obviously to shield anyone from any massive mistakes, but still. I'm so intrigued with what is going to happen. I'll be at the first race, so can't wait!

I wonder what special tricks Honda has up their sleeve the the new engines.
For the past regulations we dug deep into the cylinder deactivation "the big bang, little bang" method of torque delivery, their "extra harvest" way of charging and discharging multiple times during a given rotation cycle, the special aerospaced-derived method of situating the bearings along a long turbo shaft amongnst many more. It was very edifying to follow the Honda PU from the begining especially with insights from Wazari san and Honda's way of being very transparent.

Hmm agreed 100%. The other issue is Red Bull Tech have their Tech as well from last year, so likely expecting something on the edge. Really keen on it working out for Aston.

There is a confidence Honda has of showing the engine ahead of the winter tests. I think it will be right up there.

Exactly. When they realized that there could be a potential future issue from the "theft" of ideas provided by the entire IPS, they decided to stay and business will go on as usual. That's why I always wonder why we keep hearing the "Honda was away from F1" BS.

So if I’m correct they can present a new engine after race 6 thanks to ADUO ?

Or everyone else is going to play catch up to Honda. (As well as various other scenarios)

I think battety deployment is key. I have seen Audi videos where battety is deployed and finishes very quickly. Honda might have more Battety deployment over a longer period and quicker recharge. So top speed might not be max and ICE rpm will not be max, but battery will be longer, less fuel used as well.
