I think he also has help from the DRS but still he is stuck on Hamilton throughout the race. There is definately a serious improvement on the car and it's not just the Qualifying.

Bravo Lando Norris. Good opportunity to get Hamilton on his mistake.

Decent pace overall. Not dropping back like a brick. Red Bulls seem totally dominant (they are a pistop ahead I think), but Lando seems able to challenge Ferrari and obviously Mercedes.

Lando is getting away from Hamilton now. Sainz gets a penalty
If we avoid a penalty we can fight for 3rd.

Well he will definately fight for P3 and P4 though at the moment Sainz is faster and let's not count Perez out yet. Still impressive performance from the upgraded Mclaren and that gives us hope for when the full upgrade gets intergraded and refined. Looks like the new philosophy and the changes on the team are giving results.

These guys never learn - defend the inside against Verstappen.

Seems that Huan Pablo Montoya has to give them some lessons in defending positions. On another note Lando Norris has got out of DRS and starts to gain some distance. I don't think it's only Austria that makes Mclaren fast. The upgrade is good on merit. It was good in qualifying, it was good in sprint and it's also good in the race so maybe Mika Hakinnen might be on to something. You can clearly see the difference between Norris with the 50% upgrade and Piastri with the old car.

On another note I have a feeling that these penalties and rules about boundaries are ridiculous. Just put some grass or sand and then the driver will definately has a different approach to these turns.

You can't say until you've seen it elsewhere in different conditions...

I don't think the car might be so different. If a car is fast it will be fast in most conditions.

I have been watching F1 from 1988 and a good car is always a good car in most conditions. Don't you see the difference between Norris with the 50% upgrade and Oscar with the old car?

Yeah but that's got nothing to do with how it handles different track surfaces, temperature, slow corners and those high energy long corners.

Forget the Grand Prix. Look at the difference between Norris and Piastri. You can't argue how much the car has improved.

I wasn't arguing that why are you saying I was? You said this car would be good everywhere cos its fast here and it's not true.
