It’s disappointing for the set up to make the car slower during a weekend but that’s exactly what happened. It’s not great especially when they should be a well oiled machine by now.

I see Lance is moved up to P15 after Albon and Sainz got disqualified due to an illegally large DRS gap.

Next year's main problem will certainly be the simulator. It's already known that it has problems, and every weekend it becomes evident, and now again. Alonso said they changed the setup and made the car worse, and they're probably the eighth team now for the race. Im afraid about new car with this "poor" simulator

They've hired Giles Wood a couple of months ago, it's going to come good.

I trust Newey for next year, the big question mark is the Honda power unit, and the team being able to execute if the car is good.

You know it was also the simulator that got them to the initial setup. Maybe the simulator showed the car would be slightly faster but harder to drive??? They didn't have to keep the setup from FP3, if they thought it was slower, they could have changed it back.

Anyways, it did go from a 1:30.9 in FP2 to a 1:29.9 in qualifying, the car did improve. It is what is, the car, obviously, isn't faster than that.

Like I said before, if You lack DF. Just cause you turn up the power, it doesn't mean you'll be able to get on full throttle as early as those with more DF. Nor does it mean you can brake as late as them.

Alonso starting on SOFTS!!!!!

Proffered strategy by Pirelli was Medium/hard.

Both starting on softs, like max. Most others on mediums. Track is also still damp.

From Start Should Go
Softs 20
Mediums 26
Hard 32

Maybe they try to go to 26 on the softs and finish on Mediums ? Pushing the envelope 6 on Softs and 4 on Mediums. Alonso is doing a ton of lift and coast. All depends on when the cars behind pit and how fast they go.

Alonso pulling away from the pack behind now, has opened a gap of 4 seconds as of lap 20.

Alonso has done a great job managing those soft tires, might be able to go onto the mediums

Alonso manages a brilliant race and the useless pit crew ruins it.
