Can there be a 3 stopper? Used Mediums or Softs & Fastest laps maybe. There is no way Verstappen is going to hold of Hamilton. Mercedes is a clearly quicker car except on full fuel when they were sort of equal. And RB pitted way too early. Should be a comfortable 8-10s margin victory for Hamilton. He will get past Max by Lap 49-50 & then pull 1.5s+ on 8 lap newer tyres !

Are we watching the same race?

I wonder if RBR will sacrifice Perez’s third place to take the fastest lap point away?

He always says stuff like this. I very much doubt he believes a word of it. Best ignored.

A 3 stopper felt like an option but it is too late now. And the traffic would have made it very hard, even if done on time.

Not unless someone is wearing fanboy tinted glasses. Max's tyres fell off after 14-15 laps in the 2nd stint & he had to forced to pit by 20. Hamilton has a whopping 8 lap fresh tyres. Almost everyone except Hamilton pitted early - May way too early.

TBH I am expecting contact if Hamilton gets close enough.

Hamilton has driven up to the 2second buffer. This is where he'll struggle to get close enough to try a pass, let alone taking it easily as you suggest.

Agreed. Even if Hamilton can get close, Verstappen is not going to just let him by, and there are only 6 or so laps left.

Yh seeing how Bottas struggles in the twisty stuff behind Sainz, I don’t think Ham’s delta is enough to reach DRS

The tyres fall off, Degradation is crazy high & overtaking is very easy & DRS is quite potent here.

And 8 Lap fresher tyres - Massive Massive. Unless Hamilton screws up really badly, this should be a fairly easy 5-6s win atleast ! If this was the other way around, I would easily bet on Max, Leclerc or Perez !

There are only 5 laps left, and Hamilton is only 2-3 tenths faster. How on earth is he going to pull a 5-6 second gap?

I don’t see it getting much closer than this.
