Yeah completely agree, he's exploring everything and being very clever in how he finds time.

He loves this track.

I wonder if this is part of the sim racer generation, where you try unconventional things to get faster, they don't make sense but they work.

Is it my imagination or is 2021's buzzword from journalists & commentators Rotation ??

Yesterday, Sky Sports commentators - all 22 of them - kept saying rotation at least twice in every sentence... I'm pretty sure this was not the case last year - execpt Brundle on occasion...

I've always thought of car "yaw" as rotation so I never noticed if this was just more utilized more now than last year. Another use of "rotation" would be for tires (where locking up is more referred to as "under-rotation" for example).

Well you have indeed tyre rotation which is especially noticeable on a stiff chassis in off camber corners.

But yaw rotation is essential to fast times. The mclaren for example does very well on low fuels (it’s v much front end limited). Which when it’s light it becomes less limited by it. Eg when the weight goes up the car wants to go straight on for a given steering angle so the corner speed has to be lowered to get the car to turn in.

This is where the leading cars have a massive advantage over the midfield. It’s that ability to still have a reactive front end on high fuel loads leading to a massive gain in race lap time. You can cheat this rotation slightly by various different methods but ultimately you’re still going to lose time

Wet rubber on the racing line. May give a slight edge to Lando on the start.

Doubt he'll have the pace to keep up with Merc/RB but it would be fun to have him leading 1 or 2 laps.

I don't think Lando will sit to fight Max or Lewis but he should try to keep 3rd at least cause the Ferraris are surely to come through the field. However I would welcome if Lando would lead for 1 or 2 laps just to show that Mclaren is coming back.

In any case good luck to both our drivers. Let's try to gather as many more points than Ferrari as possible.
