Will Alonso retire or go to Alpine now?

I believe Aston can do good…. By 2030 same as Audi

So what’s next ?
We have a saying, "Where there's smoke, there's fire"... I think Alonso should sit down and think things through thoroughly, and then reverse whatever decision he's made. Because it's clear that his decisions haven't been that good so far. Of course, there's a time constraint. We don't know if Aston will be successful in 2 years or 5 years. But they have the facilities, the engineers, and the money. They have everything to be successful. As for Alphine, even the team itself doesn't have such expectations. They even gave up on their own engines. I think that's the worst of all.
Alonso can go there, but only to spend a few more years in the middle of the pack. The same thing might happen at Aston too. But there's also the possibility of another option at Aston. I saw a post online saying Ferrari is 6% behind Red Bull (in terms of engine power). But as you can see, Hamilton is right behind Russell and ahead of Red Bull.

Aerodynamics is for those who can't build engines.

from what I saw of Alonso's car at the beginning of FP1, it seemed to me they were running a pre-2022 era 'high rake' setup. Haven't seen that in these past 5 yrs on any car.
If you check hairpin footage from Canada you'll see many cars have high rake. The cars are a mix of 2021s rake and 2000's era aero elements and chassis size.

He will renew for 1+1 years, if you ask me.
For me, go to Alpine now would be the worst decision of all. For me, if he wants to have any chance of his son having memories of him driving in F1, as he said, if he wants to have any chance of retiring competitively (fighting for points or a podium perhaps), he should renew for 2027 with an option for 2028. Any other choice is throwing away all the suffering since Canada 2023 for no reason. To me, it's even illogical to retire now. Aston is not stupid, even Honda. Newey requested a recalibration of the entire tunnel last year; they are very late. The B spec will probably be a decent base for testing and evolving so that next year it can be competitive. I think they can start 2027 fighting for points and maybe will be the 4th or 5th team in the second part of 2027.
But Honda is what worries me the most; they're so far behind that I don't know if they can do anything

He should end it. Enjoy his life, do whatever he likes in machinery that's worthy of him.
Neither Aston Martin nor Alpine will enable him to fight at the front anytime soon.
