I expected Lando to have the upper hand from pole in clean air, well done Oscar for hanging in so close.
That 1st stint was beautiful. Top job.

The tire undercut ruins these battles so often. A driver can't compete if he always loses 2 or 3 seconds in each pit stop sequence by just stopping 1 lap later.

And tires aren't robust enough to be pushed hard for an entire stint to fully make up the loss.

Lando had a great weekend on one of his best tracks. Very happy that McLaren are confident in the drivers to let them fight still.

Very definitely a 2 horse race now. Max more likely going to end up in duel with Charles for the best of the rest.

Great job from the team and drivers, more races like this between drivers, for all F1 fans.

Another 1-2 for the team. It was Lando's weekend this time as the clean air gives a huge advantage to the first place. Fantastic start from Piastri taking 2nd and taking the fight to Norris but unfortunately he could not pass him due to the dirty air. Ferrari's got the most out of their car. Russell got a fantastic 5th. Lawson got revenge on the Red Bulls with 6th. Alonso is going wonders with that slow car in 7th. Good job from both Sauber drivers and especially for Bortoleto in 8th and 9th. Tsunoda is getting in the meatgrinder as that second car is not equal to Max's car. Antonelli went Team Rocket on Max Verstappen and took him out. Pity but it can happen.

The first stint was super close and my heart was racing all the way trough, congrats to NOR and PIA for 1-2 victory and for giving us super close but fair racing, great battle for P1. Rest of the race was okey, but really average.

Let's go for another 1-2 in Silverstone, next week.

It really is a saturday championship.
EH this comment is the least true here with such an effective DRS. there was plenty of passing up and down the field
Not fussed about up and down the field. But between the championship challengers. Its going to be so hard to overtake between them, that being the lead car will be such a positive.

Not sure how many times the driver starting behind has beaten the other.

I'm slightly nervy about post race inspections here. F2 and F3 were both DSQ for plank wear this weekend. And Lando was kicking up a fair bit of dust at the last corner

Stella just said that the upgrades took "a fundamental role" in this performance, he also mentioned some changes in the chassis (but didn't go into details).

When will we get the all clear? In 2 hours?

Going of Canada- the all clear was given 1 hour and 40 mins after the FIAs ‘provisional classification’ document was published.
I think any infringement comes within the 1 hour and 40mins.

That was epic to watch:

As a McLaren fan, my heartrate went to the roof, but really happy with another double and to see both McLaren drivers fighting for the championship. Something we miss since 2007 (don't remember me the outcome  )

And a little fun thing for all the last year haters (you know them which):

Cheers to everyone and enjoy a perfect (papaya) Sunday!

High praise indeed

They're running out of things to point at it seems. Horner's comments give the impression that they don't have any idea how McLaren have such good temp management. I have said it before, but with every race, I am getting even more convinced that this is not some trick concentrated into one part alone. They have clearly designed a very complex car and on top of being really strong aerodynamically, the mechanical side of things underneath the bodywork is probably where they are outclassing the field the most.

I hope we get some answers at some point on how exactly they managed to get such good thermal management on this car.

It was truly amazing how Oscar could stay that close. I thought a couple or three laps was the maximum and then it would be race over. Thankfully they have built a car that allows some really exciting racing.

Beautiful execution by both drivers. Lando did great, but I can’t get over how impressive Piastri is. Unbelievable that this is only his third season. Will be a really tense fight at the end of this year.
