Who the hell even cares one way or the other? It's completely non related to the team. If this was the 1976 Mclaren team thread, there would be a news report like this every week about James Hunt, and every week we would have to endure a 500 word rant by Manoah2u about how hateful and bigoted everybody is for (heavens for bid) making a relationship joke.

Some people don´t care about personal problems of F1 drivers, and some people emphatize with them. You don´t need to share your points of view, point taken, move on.

And yes, it is OT

I'm not a fan of celebrity, nor am i a fan of these jokes but i find it hard to believe that should Jenson Button come on this forum and read this post his day would be changed at all!
He is used to living in the public eye and a silly joke about his situation does not make it better or worse.

I'm guessing similar colours, but with a slightly different scheme. The current one fitted the old long nose very well, but not so much on the new shorter nose they've adopted. I guess it'll depend on whether they secure a title sponsor or not.

They need a strong season to get a title sponsor, with some podiums and a lot improvements in the winter and during the season, so I think we'll see the same livery with minor changes for a while.

Stoffel Vandorne will be racing in super formula next year. Apologies if this is old news, I just didn't know.

Indeed. I genuinely have been a great fan of Buttons persona. It's also saddening knowing that Buttons career as a F1 driver is surely coming to an end soon. I can't see him racing for anyone else, other than McLaren and that contract is at best going to last this coming season and maybe next. After that, he'll be off to some other venture, perhaps WEC which surely will be an exciting new period of his life.

Anyway, as happy as a couple they seemed, relationships always tend to be more complicated than what can be seen from the outside. As others have said, a split is always better than dragging an unhappy one out.

As a bit of a Jenson supporter, I'm hoping for a more competitive McLaren next year and a good fight against Alonso. Go Button!
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

I've been a fan of Jenson's since he originally moved to BAR and it's such a shame how these past 2 or so years have been. Losing your dad, not winning races, grid penalties nearly every race, marriage breakdown, points are rare and it was three years since he last won. Yet, he always smiles and tries to be positive about the car or how things are with the car, even though it's horrible. That I think is what makes him regarded as one of the most professional drivers on the grid.

Here's hoping that McLaren and Honda over the new year gain a few more steps to being on top again and add a few more stickers to the car and suits.
Friendship with Honda ended, Renault is my new (and more reliable) friend.

Not everything was bad for Jenson, he´s been first F1 driver to score more points than Alonso on same car. Alonso has always been proud of that achievment repeating no teammate has ever scored one single point more than him, despite he´s had strongest teammates than any other driver. Now he cannot say it anymore, Jenson did it

To be fair we should say it was Jenson + Honda who did it, but his achievement anycase

Button was also the only driver to outscore Hamilton.

He out-scored first Hamilton and now Alonso, and yet no big stories are written about it in the media, at least not like Ricciardo beating Vettel. Part of the blame for that must be put on Mclaren for under-valueing him and treating him like some 2nd rank driver and making him wait for far too long before confirming he's got the drive. Also his salary is supposedly only a fraction of what Alonso earns.

I hope Fernando and Jensen get a reliable car next year. Reliability is even more crucial then absolute performance for Jensen to have a good season in my opinion. He has to show consistency, and has to match Alonso in a reliable car which doesn't break down. Otherwise the general consensus will surely be that the only reason he beat Alonso in 2015 was because of unreliability.
