You are completely missing the point. I compare NASCAR to F1 cause basically they are they same. Racing cars driving at night. ( Or they would be) The SAME principles apply to NASCAR and F1. Proper lighting for Nextel Cup cars, with their visibility problems from the cramped cockpits, is more than enough for an F1 car. If they took advice from Musco lighting, they could light ANY track sufficiently for any racing series. I'm not comparing the racing, the cars, or anything other than if it's sufficient for NASCAR, it's more than enough for F1. You seriously need to watch a NASCAR race before you spout things like that, cause you obviously are ignorant to what the visibility is like from one of those cars. Not to mention you have no idea what it's like to drive one of them. Ask JPM just how easy it is. He's doing really well, but he's not setting the place on fire. If ovals are so easy, and all you have to do is 'stick to the wall', how come he ran so crappy at Bristol? Cause it's not easy, that's why.
You actually CAN compare F1 to motocross as well. IF the subject of comparison is lighting conditions. What flynfrog is trying to get across is (forgive my errors if I'm wrong:lol: ), that racing at night is more comfortable for him. Because the sun is not usually out at night, the temperatures are cooler, and more comfortable. And the more comfortable you are, the harder you can push. Ergonomics for the racer you might say. That and the track is very visible without the sun blinding you. Read more than the words ds.raikkonen, read what the point the person is making.
The principles are the same no matter what kind of race track, series, or cars you are trying to provide lighting for. Lots of light, no weird shadows thrown on the track or caused by cars, and no glare. Musco lighting did that with mirrors. The drivers at places like Daytona say they can see much much better at night because of the design. There is no glare, the light is better than natural sunlight. F1, if they are serious about it, need to swallow their pride and ask for help. Not waste millions doing it their way. They would be much better off, and dare I say more successful.
