Belatti, friend, no relation to your posts in another thread, I was just commenting on Nick T previous post in this thread, it's not a "subtle" reference to your jokes, I swear.

Besides, there is not much difference between kids and adults. As my wife says sometimes, when she sees me tinkering with my car: "The difference between children and grown up men is the price of the toys." :)

The fact is some of us here miss Manchild, and (as during his previous absence) we ask him politely to reconsider his position and accept that he is liked here. I know many people here has been the object of his affection, we know he will do the correct thing again, he's truly a good man.

Totally OT, but couldn't help it... Are you married to Ayrton Senna?
I believe the original quote was "the difference between men and children are the toys", but I guess he didn't really have to care about their cost...

No disrespect, Ciro, I'm sure your wife is a lovely woman  .

Well, let's go OOT.

I didn't know that. She drives pretty fast, if you must know. Anyway, I'm afraid Senna is misquoted or he misquoted the phrase: it's a common one in spanish (and portuguese, I imagine). Just google for "La diferencia entre los hombres y los niños es el precio de los juguetes" (with quotes and all, so you search for the exact wording): you'll get 248.000 hits, and none of them, at least in the first pages, mentions Senna.

If you google for "La diferencia entre los hombres y los niños son los juguetes" (that is, without the "price" part) you'll get no hits (I checked, I swear).

If you leave the "cost" part aside, then you don't get the point: the toys are the same. One of my partners at the office uses it when he sees me building a traffic simulation, or he says something like "Still playing with little cars?"

I'm pretty sure it predates Senna muttering it. Actually, I'm also pretty sure my wife said that to me way before Senna said the same to whoever heard him. :) I was her boyfriend when Alan Jones was the champion, years before Senna started to race in F1, so from now on, you know who you should attribute the phrase to: Claudia Nicholls. :D And yes, she's a hot babe, way more than "lovely". Actually, she's not "lovely" by a mile (she has black eyes, if that is an explanation): I have a lovely cat, but I'm afraid I don't have a lovely wife.

So, Senna didn't invent the phrase: it's like saying that "it's raining dogs and cats" is a phrase by Graham Hill just because he said that once. Besides, don't you have, in english, the expression "Boys Toys" for the same idea?

I really don't understand why he left this time... :?

He was very concerned with the Tibetan problem, as almost everyone was, but what got him pissed is Tomba moving the thread to "off topic". I really struggle to see where is the problem there. Manchild was one of the first to defend the importance of the "off topic" part, when some trolls were playing the "this is F1 technical, so there shouldn't be anything appart technical stuff from F1 here" asshole game... So why is it an "underclass" forum suddenly?

He argued that Tomba let trivial subject like Alonso's marriage etc in General chat while moving his thread to off topic got him angry, but the "mistake" was more to forget moving girly "people" subjects away from General F1 thread, rather than moving a political oriented topic to "off topic", which IMO is a wise move, considering how politics related discussion can degenerate easily, and pollute F1 oriented forum quickly. We all witnessed that in the past... You have to draw a borderline somewhere between forums, and that ain't an easy task.

Manchild, please let your anger dissipate, and consider calmly Tomba's position as an Administrator of F1 technical website. Come back mate, we're all missing you!

I know! :D (usually I´m ALWAYS JOKING!)

This time I saw a relationship between my many times quoted phrase "GROW UP" and Manchild (a man who doesn´t grow up, cause he is a child, too  ) and I said (joking) Oh! It could be me!

Beyond that, I would like to tell everyone here that I´m the first one not being an adult  , 26 years old and still playing F1 PC games, "air guitarring" when hearing PANTERA, playing my family and friends april fools jokes all year long, etc. One of my favourite games is when the whole family reunites, all adults sitting in a table talking about Football or Politics, me, fighting and playing with all my little cousins (range from 3 to 7 years old) :D
