Could someone please enlighten me as to what the differences are between double and single stage DFI?Amadeo Felisa wrote:'It is the first engine for road use capable of developing as much as 9000rpm, guaranteeing top-flight sportiness and outstanding driving comfort even when used on a day-to-day basis.

I'm guessing that it is similar to a multispark ignition system, whereas the fuel injector is opened up multiple times during a single intake stroke to improve fuel mixing and homogenous mixture.mx_tifosi wrote:Ferrari - 458 Italia: Permission to be SelfishCould someone please enlighten me as to what the differences are between double and single stage DFI?Amadeo Felisa wrote:'It is the first engine for road use capable of developing as much as 9000rpm, guaranteeing top-flight sportiness and outstanding driving comfort even when used on a day-to-day basis.

And the Honda S2000 has a 9000rpm piston engine, a better comparison, that was out long before this car as well. They must be talking about their own cars, or it's just a silly claim.ISLAMATRON wrote:I'm guessing that it is similar to a multispark ignition system, whereas the fuel injector is opened up multiple times during a single intake stroke to improve fuel mixing and homogenous mixture.mx_tifosi wrote:Ferrari - 458 Italia: Permission to be SelfishCould someone please enlighten me as to what the differences are between double and single stage DFI?Amadeo Felisa wrote:'It is the first engine for road use capable of developing as much as 9000rpm, guaranteeing top-flight sportiness and outstanding driving comfort even when used on a day-to-day basis.

And more Bullshit from Ferrari, my RX-7 spun up to 9000rpm back in 89 when it was first released, and has been since upgraded to rev past 10K.
It looked better in CGI.
It sems that Ferrari have totally eliminated the floor mounted shifter, is this new for this model?
