It's very easy to point fingers at conceptual for his comment - I'm not anyone's advocate to determine if they were right or wrong - and most possibly I have done some myself in the past and I could almost bet that most of you that are posting your judgemental comments did it also.

What surprises me here is how out of context it is: this is a thread about whether one should clearly state if it's a fact or an opinion, not a discriminating thread against what British law and attitude was like 200 or 300 years ago and how it reflects after quite a few generations.

Egos, and big ones, that's what it is...

There's a hell of a lot of projection, bigotry, ignorance and stupidity flying around in this thread...and ironically it's coming from the person who was complaining about the above in the first place.

Quite something.

Frankly, I'm "a little astounded" by the editings I'm forced to make and the lack of change in behaviour of some members that the PMs I have send bring in (or better yet, don't bring in). Now I see clearly that I haven't been a good moderator and that simpler solutions are at hand.

This thread is closed and some warnings have been issued.

One thing is to receive posts full of candor from new members and a very different proposition is to have to deal daily with the bitterness and pedantery some posts by what seem lost souls project into the site. I thought I could make a change in them, but I throw the towel now, right here.

Thanks for the thread, it has been enlightening.
