YR.no say no rain expected during the race. But it will rain before and after, pretty much the whole day except for the window in where the race is underway.

It's just not meant to have a wet race, is it? Maybe the rain that will fall before the race will make the track damp or ready for inters when it's time for the race start? A bit like 2010.

rosberg need to worry about whos behind him that will jump him at the start before he thinks about passing hamilton.
Turn one is always dramatic at this track. Also heavy fueling running, it's not so clear which car has the upper hand.
For Sure!!

Haha. I meant to ask if anyone knows the fault of the sensor(s)? Was it oil pressure, fuel temperature?

Anyways I love seeing the wunderkind having to fight the car for once. A hearty goodbye to those planted rear ends... I was cheering along with the Ausies like i was there! lol

(Still no faith in the Renault engine, obviously.)

Do you dislike F1 racing or do you just dislike Vettel?
I love F1 racing and I would have loved to see Vettel fighting with the Mercs and Ric and Rai with Alo instead of these two being stranded in Q2...

(if dry)

After a painful 2012 AUS i think Hamilton will bring this home with Rosberg completing the 1-2.
Ricciardo will fall back and possibly finish behind Vettel.
Williams drivers will storm through the field and end up in the top 5.

Mclaren and Ferrari scratching their heads of how to close the gap to the front.
If (big if, I know...) it is Ham-Ros-Ric after the start I believe they will finish that way. The Mercs will pull away and Ric will profit from clean air and follow in a distance.

Behind it is quite interesting. Vet, Rai, But and the Martinis have MUCH more pace in the dry than the Torros and FI. This will give a nice DRS train with, thus a lot of classical overtaking action. I am very looking forward to that.

You misinterpreted him. He's asserting that he likes F1 where the rear of the car is constantly trying to break free, not that he likes Vettel being dumped in Q2.

Updated weather forecast from yr.no. Nearly no rain all day:

Image

It looks like they think the storm is going to pass south of Melbourne now, so no high winds either.

? We do know, this car is called Mercedes, lap times from FP2 give very clear picture.

Cloudy. Isolated showers until evening, more widespread in the southeast suburbs.

I think despite him near flawless qualifying lap, Ricciardo is going to have a Bottas Canada 2013 sytle race, because the RBR still doesn't hasn't what it takes to hold that position on a dry run. I think Mag will have a similar type of race. I expect Lewis and Nico to pull away and Williams to come up through the field fighting with Ferrari for the last podium.

Renault says Vettel had a software problem, there was no mention of sensors or any other hardware.
If he truly had such a problem, does it mean he runs different software from Ricciardo? That would raise the same stink we had with Webber. It doesn't make sense to say one car had software issues and the other didn't, especially as the software is burnt directly unto chips for robustness in rugged environments like F1.
If he and Ricciardo use the same software, we can conclude that Vettel is having a tough time adapting to the 2014 formula.

Is real the posibility that Raikkonen and Alonso to have bigger wheel spin (compared to the cars around them) at the start because of the extra torque of the Ferrari engine?
