Although McLaren looked fast at all times in Austria, Leclerc ‘closed’ the gap in FP3 after having good race pace in FP2 last week however Lando the pulled that margin for pole.

I think Max will be the pole rival. But anywhere in the top 5 could be how it plays out.

McLaren are holding lots of pace 'in hand'. Looking at the data, I expect McLarens to be 1-2 with times in the range of 1.24.4xx to 1.24.5xx. Anyone else is going to be 0.25s to 0.3s behind.

Leclerc just did a 1:25.4 in FP3 and Hamilton potentially looked to do a 1.25.3 though?

I am speculating McLaren is sandbagging, but so are the Ferraris and Verstappen. If I recall correctly, the lead Haas is only .5 sec off the fastest lap which comfort me in my theory. I was wondering what data you were looking at to guess McLarens' ultimate pace and starting position?

The question Delasoup is who has more time to give from the sandbaggers.

There is a saying "keeping their powder dry". No points or positions on offer so far.

Today's cold weather proves that Mclaren is the fastest car only when the weather is hot otherwise they are very close with the rest and maybe behind sometimes.

The field is closer yes but is not accurate they’re slower than other teams in cooler conditions….
