Max Verstappen had a seemingly easy afternoon near Spielberg as he lead the Styrian Grand Prix from start to finish, never even having to worry about a challenge from behind. Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas saved the day for Mercedes by completing the podium.

Agree. But the teams also need to invest in the right young drivers for the right reasons. Sadly that’s an ideal world and realistically money means that Strolls, Mazepins, Latifis etc are going to be necessary but you’d hope that despite the money they are genuinely talented enough. Stroll has proven himself to be at least worthy of a seat. Mazepin had a terrible start but is improving- jury out- I’ve seen not a lot to suggest Latifi is anything other than an ATM on wheels.Mogster wrote: ↑27 Jun 2021, 14:48I do have some sympathy with the lack of on track time kids get these days. Imho I still think Merc has the better car, but it’s a diva with a narrow operating window. When they get it right, it’s still the car of the field. “Just”
What RB has shown is that they get the car close to the performance ceiling on every track and without major drama. It has really helped them due development that they can run a skinner rear wing yet still have decent race tyre wear and when in front it’s v hard to overtake.
Couple that with a driver who is literally driving the wheels of the thing and is able to use the platform underneath him “all the time”.
Great season. Let’s just enjoy it and stop the bickering

Shame, isn't it? He's showing how good he is but he's now run up against the limitation of the equipment. Running in P8 on merit before his problems. Everyone in the paddock knows how good he is.
