Mclaren MCL40

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

What's going on on the endplate near the Dropbox logo on the leading edge? Almost looks like an inlet of some kind rather than a rouge shadow??

Also safe to assume that McLaren did not bring a Macarena rear wing? (unless its still sitting the garage)

There’s a small picture in this article:

https://www.the-race.com/formula-1/miam ... -revealed/

Doesn’t look like whole sale changes to me considering the list and a ‘whole new car’ quotes apart from the spade underneath the floor board fence/ barge board thingies

just saw this on TV and confirmed that its a little gap in the leading edge where there is a kink in the endplate. Have not seen that before anywhere?

What hasn't changed? Sidepods, diffuser and Front wing? it's still pretty substantial.

It’s all looked the same as Japan to me on the tiny picture. I’m hoping it’s wrong and I’m wrong.

The team clearly outlined significant changes in their presentation document. The update in Miami includes a completely new floor and board geometry, new rear wing and various other areas (sidepods, engine cover, front and rear corners, etc).

In Canada we can expect second part of the upgrade.

Are there pictures that show the changes to the car compared to the old spec?
