Driver’s also have to infringe track limits 3 times to get a black and white flag and a forth time to get a penalty… There is no reason to not enforce them properly.
The fact that a track limit violation has the same penalty as running someone off the track is debatable, at the same time, not following track limits can save a lot of time on track and that’s why there is a time penalty associated with it.
