The team definitely made the wrong call on the last stop for Ham. Russell had JUST made a stop for slicks and ended up off the track. Ferrari must have looked at that and thought........"how do we get THAT for ourselves??"

Lewis was bang on with call suggestion for the slicks, but his inters were so dead that it wouldn't have made a difference which is why they pit him ~3 laps after the radio instead of 5 - 7 laps later.

All in all, Ferrari and Lewis did pretty well to even come that close to the podium. Their suspension upgrade in Spa, floor update in Hungary and the somewhat positive news about Vasseur's contract are pretty reassuring. Still some positives to take from this weekend :D

Vasseur said they didn't see the heavier rain at the start, that's why they let Leclerc pit. Also, they had some issues before the race (I'm not sure what he's referring to.)

He also said Hamilton drove very well, but the car had surprising issues in dirty air which is why he couldn't overtake easily.

He doesn't seem to be feeling pressured by the results, he was really relaxed in his interview. More so than the last weekend in my opinion.

Well, they're P2 in WCC and both drivers now se able to drive these car to at least close to it's potential. I dont see what anyone would be expecting of him outside of miracles to catch the McLarens.

We have conformation for the following, which has been known for a while:

- Ferrari cars during this regulations don't do well in the rain
- LEC struggles in mixed conditions
- Pit wall struggles in mixed conditions

ALSO

+ SF25 has pace on a smooth track
+ Spa should be good (if it doesn't rain)
+ HAM is getting more comfortable with the car
TBH i cannot remember until Michael Shumacher days where we had a good car int he wet. Maybe its the drivers i don't know. But lewis said something interesting post race "The car DNA needs to change as you can't use this kind of car [balance/set-up??] in mixed condions. Something i need to talk to the team for next year is the snappy rear is not the way to go (Charles can drive a snappy rear end car in dry Fast, so i assume he means this DNA in the car)"

According to Fred, Ferrari lost Lewis' gps for half the race and didnt know where he was, wonder if that had a hand in the strategy calls

Yes on sky sports it said Fred seemed a little more "up-beat" and less annoyed/angry. So maybe he has either been told he is:
1) Safe for next season at least
2) he knows he is out and has accepted this and no point complaining and being angry at races etc

The car in clean air was very fast although tricky, LEC had purple at the start, HAM had a few purples at the end, following other cars was extremely difficult for both HAM, LEC suffered that even more.

LEC didn’t bet right at the start, and then didn’t drive great.

The constant stoppages didn’t allow to set good temp in the tires, the car was slow to warm them up but those tires lasted longer than anyone’s except MCL, HAM was the only soft tire lasting well till the end of the race, but was struggling to be consistent.

Good weekend for LEC to take some learnings about betting to hard at the start of a tricky race when multiple VSC/SCs were likely.

A bit disappointing as a result but overall could be worse, this was a chaotic race.

HAM passes on GAS, and RUS/OCO were masterpieces. Very well done.
