Sounds more like Cowell will take it back after the early races more than anything.
Yeah, I thought about that as an option too, he did say cowell would work on engine stuff in "first half of 2026" too. We will see. I still think Horner might be an option. They are also lacking a CEO. Whatever happens, Newey did not give the impression that he will be TP the whole season in that interview yesterday.

2p is more than expected before the weekend with this car
I was expecting a chance of points before the other teams got their cars tuned for the race. Glad to at least get 2 points from the sprint, most likely the last points of the year.

According to "sources", Stroll has told the factory that Horner is not coming to Aston Martin.
Sources have indicated team owner Stroll explicitly told Aston Martin staff that Horner won’t join the team when he addressed the factory on Wednesday to announce Newey’s promotion. The message was intended to put an end to all speculation surrounding Horner and to underline that Aston Martin will not bring the former Red Bull boss in for any role.

I prefer Fernando to start on the left, which is clearer, so an odd-numbered position in the standings is better. Fifth place would be fantastic.

Great effort. As expected, other teams improved more after the sprint race, but Fernando still made it to Q3. =D>

Going to be difficult to stay there. Alonso has an outside chance of points if he can get ahead of Sainz off the start.

I’m not confident for points in race given the last races but let’s see, maybe 1

I don't think he got his last run in Q3 in, at least they didn't show any sector times on TV.

Alonso used all his new softs in Q1 and Q2 already, so this explains why he was slower in Q3. Same for Leclerc and Gasly.

are you sure ? he did two runs in q3. first one before the red flag in q3 was was a 20:552, second one 1:20.418. Would be weird to have such a small delta on this track w fresh tires.
