On the hards, right rear in turns 1 and 2 and then 7,8,9 would create blistering. It would heal and return on the next lap in the same corners. It was bad enough for him in turn 10 that when the right rear tire lost a piece of rubber, he lost the car. Same thing happened to the Ant.

The Onboards for Alonso were facing forwards so you couldn't see it But Ant's onboards were facing Norris because he was close behind. You clearly see it there.

Good result!
I think the mistake changed nothing
No, he was keeping Hadjar in DRS range to wear out his tyres and to keep Russell in check like he did on the medium run. The mistake allowed Hadjar clean air, and Alonso did not have the pace. 6th place was lost. But it was a clever strategy that was almost executed to perfection.

I think so too, in the end a rare mistake cost him 6th - in hindsight, probably yesterday as well. But still a very good showing from Alonso this weekend, of course.

7th yesterday was the best result possible. Alonso's tyres were falling off a cliff, and Russell was .5 of a second off the final corner on the lap when Alonso overdrove it. Russell was getting by on the straight no matter what.

I don't know, it really needed a massive speed advantage to complete a pass. But anyway, it doesn't matter much.

Good move by the team to get Stroll into position to back off some competition, by the way, although it didn't really turn out to be necessary.

Some rumors rises from Marcin Budkowski, ex Alpine about Aston Martin will not be ready for the Barcelona tests due to delays with the Honda engine. He seems to have said this to ElevenSports. But I couldn't find the article; it seems he heard it in the paddock. But all teams are sttrugling suffer with them engines, just Mercedes dont.

I always feared this would happen when Honda whimsically shut down its engine operations for six months. Coming back from lost time and personnel is not easy. 2026 may be the McHonda nightmare all over again.

Its make sense and because of that Cowell leaves the TP and focus on Engine, Aramco and Valvoline work. We need to wait, but, not a good sign.

The same guy said Newey has decided not participate the first test in Barcelona, because he believe stay with the car in the wind tunnel is more important. But honestly this is looks like a huge excuse or rumor

If true, maybe also why they moved Cowell to work more closely with Honda from the start of the year.
