Albon spinning all the time -- even in dry conditions, and complaining of extreme oversteer during the wet qualifying.siskue2005 wrote: ↑11 Jul 2020, 18:50We had one session in wets in 2020 cars, how do you know that RBR is not suited to wet conditions??![]()
From watching it: so many practice & testing spins by both drivers, Albon even complaining directly of excessive oversteer during the wet qualifying. Verstappen can cope better, but rear end instability remains a clear characteristic of higher rake vehicles with 2019-on front wings.PlatinumZealot wrote: ↑11 Jul 2020, 18:50Huh? very paradoxical statement! How do you know the redbull has much less stable handling?
What a strange back-ended way to congratulate HAM...godlameroso wrote: ↑11 Jul 2020, 18:13You are such children.
Hamilton did a very nice trick, well done to him, I don't know if he lucked into it, or simply planned it or he's just intuitive like that. Still, no one else did what he did so he deserves pole.
If you watch his onboard, he timed track position so the car in front was ahead just enough to clear the water off the road, but not so close that he had to drive in the spray. Because of this he was able to dominate in the final sector.
Yes, you can change camera at will. Just get a VPN and an address somewhere you can view it from. iTunes is a good possibilitysiskue2005 wrote: ↑11 Jul 2020, 18:54Not available in my country
Do they have onboards of all the laps?
Or just an hot out lap?Pyrone89 wrote: ↑11 Jul 2020, 18:57Until you put them in the same car you can't make such statements about driver X is better than driver B when they are both so good and car concept (low-rake vs high rake, DAS vs no-DAS) is so different. To me the smoking tyres indicate DAS has been a big help in heating the tyres. Perhaps we can see that when we get footage of warm-up laps.
He was not spinning last week, unless if you count the spin he had on last few lapsJordanMugen wrote: ↑11 Jul 2020, 18:56Albon spinning all the time -- even in dry conditions, and complaining of extreme oversteer during the wet qualifying.siskue2005 wrote: ↑11 Jul 2020, 18:50We had one session in wets in 2020 cars, how do you know that RBR is not suited to wet conditions??![]()

Lack of rear downforce is undesirable in wet conditions, surely?
No not even close, Hamilton is a lot more marketable than Bottas.
During FP1 many were stating in this thread that the RB is not very stable especially the back, so it's not that strange to suggest that the wet handling of the RB is not on par with the Mercedes.siskue2005 wrote: ↑11 Jul 2020, 18:50We had one session in wets in 2020 cars, how do you know that RBR is not suited to wet conditions??JordanMugen wrote: ↑11 Jul 2020, 18:48Russell appears to be just as good as Hamilton or Verstappen, so would be an excellent signing for Mercedes.Restomaniac wrote: ↑11 Jul 2020, 18:47I was replying to the idea of Hamilton and Verstappen being teammates.![]()
I think that is impossible to judge from this session, as the Red Bull has much less stable handling than the Mercedes and is not suited to wet conditions.PlatinumZealot wrote: ↑11 Jul 2020, 18:45Verstappen said he was was doing that too. In the end even after a clear track and better conditions he still didn't beat HAM's first pole time. I see Lewis another step higher than Max in the rain driving, but Max will get there in due time.![]()
It all depends on the driving style.. People like Senna and Schumacher had oversteery car, which had good front end and loose rear end... so it all depends on who drivers in and what are their preferencesTNTHead wrote: ↑11 Jul 2020, 19:03During FP1 many were stating in this thread that the RB is not very stable especially the back, so it's not that strange to suggest that the wet handling of the RB is not on par with the Mercedes.siskue2005 wrote: ↑11 Jul 2020, 18:50We had one session in wets in 2020 cars, how do you know that RBR is not suited to wet conditions??JordanMugen wrote: ↑11 Jul 2020, 18:48

So if Bottas was the 6x WDC Hamilton would still be more marketable?
