Not acceptable for Alpine.
They havent work in the engine since 2019.
Last years had a good perfomance with the worst engine.
But now the engine is not the problem.
Now the car is slow, and cant manage the tyres well.
El plan is unacepttable.

Alonso is optimistic has said to Spanish press. Despite being on same spot as last year, but others teams as Mclaren and Mercedes has done it worst. He recalls 2012 when he was a 1.2s of the lead on pace and he nearly finish winning. He is optimistic about evolving on this long year and expects big update by Miami

Alonso had obvious problems in the car, he didnt use 8th gear, and Ocon was closer to Hamilton than Hamilton was to Leclerc/Max.

I think that the Alpine is now the 4th faster car and around 0.3s slower than merc, but they need to fix some little problems.

When I went back and read over all the interviews by Ocon and Alonso they always said they'd not had any porpoising this weekend. Now not sure if that means that they're running a not optimum ride height but that's what they said. The person that asked the question didn't ask if they had made adjustments that were detrimental to performance to eliminate the porpoising.

Alonso said his battle with Gasley early in the race caused alot of degradation. Resulted in him pitting early and being on the back foot from that point on.

The car was fast on fresh tires but the degradation was terrible. The last 6 or 7 laps of a stint was just painful to watch.

I am wondering if they are low on downforce which explains the tire deg and the trap speeds.

That they are high could indicate either good engine, or low drag. I have not really seen any journalist singing the praises of the Renault PU. Worrying. Also, Alonso might have had a problem as he was not using 8th gear?

Saints & LeClerc had the lowest speed traps of the race.

In quali Alonso had 3ird highest speed at the finish line and 3ird highest at the speed trap. So I would think they are good DF wise. The really sucked in S2. Maybe they're losing DF in corners. Maybe the flow into the tunnels is obscured in corners or the car leaning is causing an issue. We can't tell any of that from here. They're gonna have to figure things out.
