Alonso: "Ah, it's a happy day. Tomorrow even more!"

Vizard: "You beat your mate Bortoleto by two thousandths."

Alonso: "One thousandth too many!"

Well, if Max leads and Lando is in top 3 I have a feeling Max will back them up so there is a 20 car DRS train, lol.

No doubt. That would ruin Alonso's strategy as he would normally save tyres the first half of the run and pull away from his followers the last quarter of a run.

Might be worth stopping early and rejoining the pack back up if can time it right, Max will probably be a SC for the entire race, and ensuring Norris can't undercut him into clean air.

Alonso said in the Sky interview that they had tried something with the setup that they had not tried the entire year, but refused to elaborate, lol.

Don't forget it's 2 against 1. McLaren can split their strategy. Max can't cover them both off.
Same tires as 2024, it was a one stopped last year. Norris stopped on lap 27.

There was contact last year on the launch between Max & Piastri, respectively 2nd and 3ird on the grid last year. I don't see Piastri challenging Norris @ the start. They'll just get in line. It's gonna be a 1 stopper.

Alonso “whitewashing” Stroll: 24–0 in qualifying this season (36–0 if you count last season). It’s the third time he has done this (after Minardi and Vandoorne at McLaren). No other driver has achieved this more than once.

I'd imagine Max backs the pack up in sector 3 for the first stint, to keep Norris from boxing early, and if he does, he'll come out in traffic and then he'll pick up the pace. He's going to have to gamble on something, just hope we can take advantage with this, if anything could help us from getting overtaken by quicker cars behind.

Thanks, everything you've said makes perfect sense.
Wow, I wasn't expecting this, considering it's the last race: I'm excited about Fernando's chances!
If the tire strategy and pit work are right, we might really enjoy it. I'd love to see Newey's positive impact confirmed.
