AM takes P6 in WCC.
P7 actually
2 points off P6. That's the price paid for running a team mainly with only one competitive car.
They took 5 seconds off of Stroll for 2 change of directions on Sainz. I'm not sure how that works cause Sainz was ahead. Stroll on Fresh Mediums passed him like he weas standing still.

Well... well... They have time to practice and improve their pit stops. With that and a "decent" car, if they let Fernando choose the tire strategy... next year... maybe...

I really liked the first half of the race. I thought the Mercedes were within striking distance, but I'm not complaining: things have improved quite a bit, although there's still work to be done.

We never had a chance on Race pace with Russell. Alonso didn't even try to keep Russell behind. When you see that, you know he's not racing him.

We are better off with the extra wind tunnel time.

Yes, but I thought ALO was waiting for RUS. The MBs hadn't been very impressive, while the AM seemed to have improved quite a bit. I've since seen that RUS overtook it and then pulled away, as you rightly say. But as you can imagine, I'd rather get my hopes up about RUS than BOR.

So on Lap 54 Stroll is chasing Saints and Boroletto. Stroll gets a reall Stron run into turn 6. Coming out of turn 7, Stroll gets a really good jump out of the corner on Sainz, pulls up besides him. Both Sainz and Stroll have DRS, Sainz on Bortelleto. Stroll Passes Sainz on the right then moves to the left, then realizes he wants to move back to the right to get into slip stream from Bortoletto. With Fresh tires Stroll sticks right behind Boroletto in turn 9. This was all out turn 7 and 8 into that long straight in to turn 9. This what he got the penality for.

I expected P9 in the championship, so 7th was like a bonus.

Thank goodness that is the end for this car. I hope Newey was as pissed as we were about the inexcusably slow pit stops.

IF you have F1 subscription go back and watch the whole section with Stroll pitting for the mediums. He really drove well there.

Yeah no 3 point off i think, but Alosno finishes P10 in the drivers. Let's hope he takes that 0 out next time around.

It's the racing bulls that are ahead of them an they didn't finish in the points. They need another point.

I hope Alonso will be WDC next year with Newly developed car. Next year is unknown for every one. Let see... and I read in Ferrari team's thread that the drivers will struggle with non ground effect car as most of the drivers did not driven non ground effect cars. I hope Alonso and Hamilton good at it. Let see....

Hoping the luck will come to Alonso next year with new born baby....
